Let Them Eat Pudding...

Chocolate, to be exact! Well, what do you do when it's midnight and you can't sleep because of stuff like stress, a migraine, your brain won't shut off, etc.? Well, in my case I go looking for chocolate. Sometimes, very seldom, I will get a craving for something and until I get it I can't move on. So, I go downstairs and search. Pantry is somewhat bare, especially from the cocoa bean! I come accross some easter chocolate... YUCK! Was not good! But alas, there is nothing else. So, I come into the computer and I am llloking up Ali's chocolate cookie recipe on my blog, when my sexy sweetie comes in holding a box of chocolate pudding in his hand, which not only did he find, but he went in and made for us! He is so my hero!!! He even found some whipped cream way back in the fridge and put more on mine! What a guy... :) So, that's what the Goodwins, (well the old ones) were doing at midnight!

Everything I Could Have Asked for In my kids DAD....

KEVIN... you are such an AMAZING father!!!! The few pictures that I have posted of many this year, speak loud and clear, and are a huge tribute to what a fun, energetic, and generous Dad you are!!! Our kids are so lucky to have you as the patriarch of our home and will do well to follow your example always. You have wonderful morals, loyalty and charity. I admire you for always being willing to help others and for working SOOOOO so hard to keep it all together for us all! Our kids love your sense of humor, your style (LOL), your time, your fun ideas, your cooking, your goofy stunts, your hugs & kisses, your games, the memories you are helping to make for our family, your drive and ambition, your positive attitude, your happy nature, etc., etc., etc.!!!! I love you for all of those reasons & so much more!!!! HAPPY FATHERS DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Other Dads We Love...

My Dad is AWESOME!!! He is such a great example to me of Father and husband. There's nothing he wouldn't do to help his kids and everyone he knows for that matter! He's such a hard worker, he loves to go flying in his plane & take the grandkids out, he is so generous with his time and resources, he knows how to do EVERYTHING (including canning and baking bread!), he has more will power than anyone I've ever met, he has been out doing me in the fitness realm for my whole life (when we used to walk together every morning I could barely keep up with him and I was younger), he loves roller coasters and so much more..... He always made sure we were taught what was right and led by example. I definitly remember 6am scriptures, family home evening, church and all its' callings, tithing settlement, fathers blessings every year before school started and anytime other time we needed him to give us a blessing and so on. He is a wonderful man and I LOVE HIM DEARLY!!!! Happy Fathers Day Dad! :)

Sweet Papa!! I love my Pop! He is such a good man and so much fun to talk to. He has done more in his life than I will ever truly know. He was is an amazing father to his children! He loves all of his grandkids too and makes sure that they know it. I was lucky enough to get to go on a trip to Kansas with him about 5 years ago and am so thankful for that fun experience! I had a blast and I know he did too... I love you Pop!

Papa H. loves to hunt and travel in his fabulous motor home set up! He taught my Dad all about that kind of stuff and so much more. He has a great smile when we see it (LOL), he's always so willing to help out all of his friends and ward members and is a very good example of that!

We love our Opa! Another hard worker and good example. Lauren has especially loved having Opa living here with us and greets him every day from work! I know he loves that! He is a great Father and helped raise the man I love!!! Thanks Opa...

Nathan... I've known this guy since junior high! He loves my sister so much and is SUCH a great Dad. Chance & Faith are so lucky to have him. I know he is their idol!!!!

Jeff... Jade and her crew sure love you!!!! 3 boys is a lot, but not for Jeff! He loves his little men and they so look up to him!

My brother, Richard (RB), is another wonderful Dad! He loves his kids so much and is a very hard worker. He can rough house with them and be soft with them and they love it! He is always on the go for them and they sure love him...

Jaime... I know how much you mean to Summer and her brood. It is so incredible the relationship that you have with her 3 and they really needed that! And, your two boys have had the chance to have a wonderful Dad and example always!!! Your new family (all of them!) are so lucky to have you for a Dad...

Shane... Madisons Dad is so great for her! He is always doing fun stuff and making sure she has good memories! He takes great care of her and his family and she loves him so much! He loves his kids and it shows everyday!

Albert is a good step-dad to Kaitlin & Daron. Daron loves to fish with him and I hope they have a great day... :)

No A/C, Bad for You, Good For Me... (& a sleepy Emmy)

Aunt Heidi and Uncle Bryce came from Maricopa to stay the weekend with us because their A/C unit is out. While I was sad for them, I'm glad they came to stay! It was a fun break for all of us to get to hang out together. We stayed up Friday night and watched "Taken", which is awesome by the way and I've seen it 3 times... then today they treated us to a movie and lunch! They were an awesome date! We called Tawna and she let us drop the kids off and off we were to see Star Trek. It was really a good movie and I am in no way a trekie! They did a great job with it! Then we picked the kids up and headed off to Red Robin. Heidi had never been there, so that's where we went. It was so good and we shared our bottomless fries with the little chicks and all was well with the world! On the way home Emmy just could not keep her eyes open for one second longer and it was hilarious... so we had to tease her a little bit and Aunt Heidi was trying to pull her eyes open for us!!! As any mom knows, if you let let fall asleep in the car for even a few minutes, they are ruined for the really good nap that they'll take in their crib when you get home! We tried, and failed... her eyes would not open! But the good news is that she was so tired that she still went right to sleep. YEAH!

Anyway, thanks again for the fun day you guys!!! You can take us on a date anytime... :)

Simple Goodness...

Well, we were out of just about everything Friday night and I didn't know what in the world I was going to make for dinner. Mom came over with a humongo flat of eggs & a gallon of milk, both from costco, and some SAF yeast from Chars probably. Yeah Granny!!!! I needed the yeast to make bread because someone moved mine into the door of the fridge and when it opened it came crashing down and shattered all over my kitchen floor. I'm still cleaning up yeast!!! Anyway, I made Chef Brads White Bread recipe for the first time (which I did like and so did my two little picky bread eaters). So, we had a lovely Friday night dinner of over easy eggs and homemade hashbrowns, courtesy of my sweet husband (gotta love a man who cooks!), and toast, courtesy of moi!!! It was yummy and I sure appreciate nights like that! I'm going to start making the bread every week with half white flour and half wheat flour to get Emmy, Lauren and Madison used to it. Maddie like the wheat for toast, but not for sandwiches. Kaitlin and Daron LOVE the wheat for everything. Lauren and Emmy only like the store bought crappy white. But they did love this white bread crust and all. So I'm gonna try this trick and ease them into it!

Jenga Anyone???

Kevin & Lauren have been playing this little game a lot lately. She will bring the bucket over to him and he always tries to take a minute to play with her. They are funny to watch!! She also started saying, "I knew it!" and when we heard her, it was so funny we laughed, so she kept on keeping on with the saying. Now she says, "I Knew it!" and then throws her head back and laughs really loud. So, that must be what we sound like when we laugh at her. She was sitting in the back of Grannys truck on the way to the movies and looked at me and says, "the sky is falling"! Courtesy of Chicken Little! This girl is hilarious!!!

Maddies Poster Project...

Activity Days are now a part of Madisons life now that she's 8, and her first goal was in Developing Talents. She chose to make a poster about her talent of playing soccer and other sports. She is going to her activity today and they are doing a talent show where she will show her poster and tell about it.

She put the names of all the teams she's been on and also listed all of the sports she likes to play...

Good job Monkeygirl!!!

Sunday Dinner At Granny & Grumpys...

Here's Aunt Summer being very patient with Lauren and helping her play the piano. I know this drove Grumpy nuts, but he was so good about it!

Here's Emmy letting Granny hold her to drink her bottle. She has to be bribed by bottle or chocolate because she is a Mommas girl!

We just had our "mini" family, so we bummed a dinner off Mom & Dad. When we are all together we say our "whole" family, when K&D are gone we say our "little" family, and when K&D&M are gone we say our "mini" family! It's wierd! Anyway, dinner was great and we appreciated the chance to eat and visit!

Now, it's back to the daily grind, a sick little Emmy (who I think has had too much chocolate over the weekend), a busted kitchen sink, and my "fraternity House"(you know after a big party or something), as I so lovingly call it after a weekend! Mondays are always busy... Lots to do apparently!!! :)

Broken House Rules...

Gum IS NOT allowed to be chewed inside of our house... so how did Miss Lauren get to a piece and get it ALL over her you may ask?!?!?!?!? It is a mystery for sure! I put her up on the counter and smeared PB all over her and it smelled good! She thought it was hilarious of course, and that Mommy had lost her mind making a sandwich on her! It all came out thank goodness and none made it anywhere but her, YEAH!!!!!

So Jealous...

I do get so jealous that my little squishy will sleep like an angel in Daddys arms and not mine! Lauren was the same way... I know I've used the term before, but, TRAITORS!!!!!! I love to see him with his little girls!

Thanks for the new look for the summer Granny! You always know what we like!!! I really like the picture negatives reel on the left hand side of our trip to the Thunderbird Airshow in Vegas a couple of years ago... Good Stuff! Also, thanks for the yummy lasagna dinner you let me come and steal tonight, along with a loaf of Grumpy's homemade bread! It really hit the spot! See you tomorrow for movie day!

Try, Try Again...

Well, after over a year of trying and severly failing with this little girl... we have her potty trained!!! She is sooooooo stubborn and just would not do it until now. It's been a month and no accidents!!!! I really thought we were gonna have to bring in a professional!!

Grandma...

This is our sweet Grandma Pearl... She is having heart surgery tomorrow and we hope that everyone keeps her in their prayers in our families behalf. She is having an anurism removed from her heart. We love you Grandma!!! We will be thinking of you and of course worrying about you during your surgery and through your recovery. MOVE HERE TO AZ!!!!!! We plan to see you in June...

What a life...

This is Maddie & Emmy just hanging out Sunday night! Can someone pull me around like that please!?!?! We had a good weekend with lots of rest and movies and chores and such... I'm happy no matter what cause Kevin's home! Aunt Jade came and did my hair, it's now short and blond again! I believe I am a short haired girl at heart, but I grew it out this year with Maddie & Kaitlin, and now that time is done!!! They both look beautiful with their long locks though! This week I plan on doing A LOT of organizing (Kaitlin will miss out, this is her favorite thing to do) and get my laundry caught up hopefully. We will Swim, swim, swim, & hit the movies on Wednesday with the cousins! I hope everyone had a fun weekend too...
