Daron ...

Daron has been busy, busy, busy since school starting!  He is in 8th grade and in Journalism now instead of band.  He'll do at least 1 year of band in high school next year, but is taking a year off to try something different.  He really wanted to play baseball at school ,but there is never enough people who sign up for 2 years running now.  So, he tried out for volleyball and made the team and is loving that!  He is a good player and even though he's never really played for anything other than fun before, he seems like a natural.  He is also on the parks & recreation Board for the city we live in as a youth representative.  So, very busy!  Not to mention ALL of the chores we give him and all the time he spends on church and scouts!  But the CHORES keep him extra busy because he's sure he has more than everyone else out there!  Proud of you Daron!  :)  Basketball is around the corner too!

Some Daron Stuff...

Daron had a Spring Open House at school and his band played some great music, he showed us his classrooms and what he's been working on and we met some of his friends and teachers.  Granny had designed a shirt for the band (they are the Bulldogs) and darons group got to pick their favorite design of 3 that she sent.  They wore the shirts to a competition they did against other schools at a place near Magic Mountain and then got to spend the rest of the day playing there!!!  He has had a lot of fun in band this year, but wishes his teacher would pick more fun music... I don't blame him!  Plus, he is so good naturally, he really needs the challenge!  He is excited to be an 8th grader coming up this school year and we are proud of him like always!!!

Scouting...

Daron and Kevin get to do A LOT of scouting together now since Kevin has been put in as Assistant Scout Master!  They have been having much fun together and with the whole group.  They do a campout at least once a month (much to my dismay!) and learn great things!  Here's a few pics of the campout in February I believe where they had to build a "lean to" tent and start their own fire, cook their own dinner/breakfast with only a few basic ingredients (nothing fance this trip), and build a signal fire, etc.   Daron and his friend Alec put the older scouts to shame!!!  So PROUD of him everyday!!!  Proud of Kevin too... he is so great with the boys!
