Maddie Girl...

Oh Maddie!  She is having a fun 5th grade year so far!  She has her friends from last year and a few new friends too.  There is a new girl that moved from Virginia that lives right around the corner that she has had a lot of hang out time with!  LOVE when friends are close by.  Anyway, she is ending her fall soccer season and had a great (personal) season!  She has gotten a little more aggressive on the field, which is a must at this level, and has done a great job in many positions, even goalie!  The playoffs are Saturday, so we wish her good luck!  She also started playing the clarinet for the school band!  It is cute to hear her play her first song learned so far... Hot Cross Buns!  She will probably be part of the junior high Christmas Concert, but we'll see.  She has been working hard in school and doing some fun projects, working on Faith in God Goals and a program coming up in activity days for the parents, and memorizing her Articles of Faith!  She is the best helper around here and we love her VERY, VERY, VERY,VERY ...MUCH!

Maddie's Pirate Play...

The 4th graders did an awesome job on their Pirates of Punctuation Production the last week of school!!!  Maddie practiced all of the songs for over a month and really did great!  Plus, she was a really cute pirate (the cutest in fact!)!!!  Good job sweetie and I loved being there to see it all!

Maddie's Spring Project...

She did a great job helping to come up with this idea for a "book in a container" for her oral book report!   And, we had to get it all done in 1 night!  She was a trooper when it counted!  Anyway she had to depict what the story was about and have questions and answers ready for a presentation.  She went 1st the next morning because everyone, teacher included, were anxious to see what hers was all about!  She got a PERFECT score!

Maddie Turns 10!!!!!!!!!

Maddie turned 10!!!!  She decided she wanted a party with friends with yummy food and games!  So, she invited 5 of her friends, helped plan what they wanted to eat and what they could play.  Dinner was Pizza and bread sticksthere were lots of snacks (way too many probably!) and instead of cake she wanted brownie ice cream sundaes!!!  They played hide and seek for hours, jumped on the tramp and played games out there, drew pictures and created fasion designs I believe and finished out the night with some karaoke!  I can't believe she's 10... it really does go by fast.  She is the sweetest kid ever and I LOVE having her as my daughter!  She is such a talented soccer player an becoming a fantastic artist!!!  We love her so much and are proud of her every day!!!!  :)

Maddies First Time Hosting...

Madison really wanted to give her teacher, Mrs. Rohwedder, a baby shower before she left for the year.  So, we had a few planning meeting with 3 of her friends and got to work making arrangements to do a SURPRISE shower the last day the teacher would be there before taking her leave.  I arranged to go to the school during lunch and decorate the room and meet the kids when the bell rang and explain the surprise to them.  We turned out the lights and handed each student a pink "It's a Girl" balloon and when she walked in they jumped up and yelled "SURPRISE", while throwing their ballon into the air!  It was a room FULL of PINK!!   It was sooooo sweet of Maddie and Mrs. Rohwedder was really touched by it all!  She loves maddie and was so happy to have her in her class this year.  It was the first year at Oak Valley for both of them!  Congrats to her work Maddie!
