Madison Made the Honor Roll...

SOOOOOOOOOOOOO proud of our Maddie!!!  She was extremely happy about htis achievement and we are absolutely ecstatic too!  I got to go to her assembly honoring all of the kids on honor roll a couple of weeks ago and it was fun to see how happy she was with her accomplishment!  Love you Madison Phelps!!!   :)

Darons Flag Football Season...

Daron loved playing football every Saturday for the last couple of months!  He had a small team, but they won all but one game!!!  He was the Quarterback I think, but since I'm not so goo with the "technical terms" that could be wrong.  I missed a lot of the games because Maddies soccer was running at the same time so we had to divide and conquer!!!  I made it to the last 2 games and it was fun to see him in action!!!  Kevin helped coach the team and they had such a good time together practicing and playing!  Basketball is next!!!  Bring it on... :)

Granny & Grumpy Came to Town...

The day after Thanksgiving Granny and Grumpy came for a visit!  We decorated a bit, caught one of Darons football games, shopped a bit, ate a lot, watched movies, and enjoyed their company!!!  The last time they were here they got to come hear Kevin and I talk in church, and this time it was Darons turn.  He did an awesome job and I loved hearing what he had to say!  He always asks Grumpy to throw the football and they have a good time doing that as well as playing games!  They flew over in their little plane and seem like they like the flight.  We'll convince them to come more often since Dad loves to fly!!!!  Thanks for the fun visit and we loved having you two!  I will post the Peachy Pork Picante recipe on the cooking blog for you Dad!!!  It was yummy and I'm sure we'll be having it again...  :)

A Happy & Quiet Thanksgiving...

We stayed in CA for Thanksgiving this year and it was a pretty quiet day!  Kevin loves to cook and did pretty much everything except the potatoes and corn I believe... with the help of the kids!  Kaitlin got to help with the turkey!  She was super excited!!!  Well, maybe not, but she did a great job assisting and learned a few things!  Daron helped with the brocolli & tomato salad and did fantastic... and Maddie helped play with the terrorists !!!  It was a little too quiet for me not being able to see extended family for the first year in a long time... but I did LOVE that we got to spend it with all of our kids in our home!

Sisters...

Maddie will spend HOURS playing with Emmy and Lauren!  She's the best at this and loves to dress them up, play school, play outside, etc.  K&D are great with them too, but have more homework and are more interested in facebook, email, ds games, video games and friends than Maddie is yet!!!  So, while they are all AWESOME older bro and sisters, Maddie has been doing a great job lately with the two little monsters!!!!  Thanks Maddie!

14 Years Old...

Kaitlin had a huge party last year and opted for a family party this year and $$$ for new clothes!  She is the earliest riser in the Goodwin home at 5:45am each morning, so we had to wake up extra early to sing our traditional wake up call for birthdays.  She didn't think we would because it was so early, but hey... we love her!  She requested ham, cheese and overeasy egg bagel sandwiches for breakfast!  They are a favorite around here. Her friends announced her birthday over the morning announcements and Savannah got to come over for the family party and have some fun.  We blew up the air mattress and watched a movie and had chicken with alfredo sauce and peas over rice...another favorite.  Instead of cake Daddy made her crepes, stuffed with bananas, strawberries, custard and drizzled with chocolate and whip cream!  Very good...  Then the kids wrestled and played karaoke and just had fun being together!  Can't believe she's 14 and love her so much it's CRAZY!!!!   

Kaitlins 3rd Eye...

So, Kaitlin had a huge growth on her eye the week of her birthday.  Finally on birthday morning it was ginormous!!!  After school we had to operate!  It was an ingrown eyelash causing all of the trouble and it really was hurting her.  We felt horrible for her, but thankfully Kevin is good at getting the problems taken care of!!!!  She looked and felt so much better for her festivities after he was done!!!  Sorry Kaitlin... :)

Kid Quote...

So I'm standing in the bathroom fixing Laurens hair for school and we are talking about Mommy being sick.  She says... "you can be sick on Tuesday Mom, okay?"

This is because i set up a play date for her on Tuesday and told her... "you get to play on Tuesday."  Or like when she says she wants to go see Santa and I say... "we'll go on Saturday".

She apparently now thinks you can schedule all things for a particular day... even being sick!!!
